Mullet – Bass fishing

** Mullet and Bass Fishing **

Last night we discussed at the committee meeting the confusion and scope of Mullet/Bass fishing within our tidal beats ( we now have the control of beats 10-11-12 which cover down to Topsham)

We have historically not aloud fishing for Mullet or Bass within the traditional coarse closed season on our beats but as a club who are wanting to promote modern methods and angling styles we cannot ignore the popularity of Mullet and Bass fishing within waters we control.

So as of today EDAA will allow mullet/bass fishing below/downstream of Countess Weir/Bridge Road which fall under our game beats 10-12. Methods of fishing will be open to the recognised methods such as Bread, Flies and Lures which are inline with what the EA bylaws follow. Anglers will be challenged if we feel these rules are being stretched or abused!

You will need to purchase a EDAA ticket to fish these waters and we will be having regular bailiff patrols on these areas.

With this we’d like to celebrate this move forward and embrace the anglers who visit our tidal beats for Mullet and Bass and as a club we should be proud to have this as another asset for the club for anglers to use chasing these exciting fish.

**please note** fishing upstream of Bridge Road/countess weir is out of bounds until June 16th

Any questions please do reach out and we will do our best to help where we can.
